is fully indexed, and is hardbound in a two volume set.

A COLE DICTIONARY From Plymouth Rock
Through The American Revolution
Compiled by Zella Eckels Marggraf
(assisted by Nancy Childress)
Several Cole immigrants found in early New
England records. James is the first known to come to America. Daniel, Job
and John were next to arrive. There are several spelling variants of the
Cole name including Coles, but this dictionary concentrates on the one
spelling, Cole. A number of Cole ancestors married into the Main family.
206 pages, 3-hole punched ready for your own 3-ring notebook. Contact Nancy Childress for information

THE MAIN
GAZETTE

A newsletter published quarterly in March,
June, September and December and is mailed first class. Contact Nancy Childress for more
information about subscriptions. The newsletter includes reader
contributions and queries and my own research on Mayne/Maine/Main and
other spellings of the name. Another subscriber service is a Surname
Register which includes Main names and the persons researching that
particular name.

IRISH MAYNE PEDIGREES ON COMPUTER DISK
Those who are researching their early Irish
ancestry may be interested in a computer disk containing some
Mayne/Main(e) pedigrees made available to the newsletter as a result of a
reader's research in Ireland. The data, which is on a single 3½ inch
diskette and spans from the 17th to the early 20th centuries, covers the
following Irish branches of the name:
(Sedborough) Mayne of Co. Fermanagh, Co. Monaghan & Dublin
(Erskine) Mayne of Belfast
(Echlin) Mayne of Co. Down
(Sinclair) Mayne of Dublin
Mayne of Rahaghey, Co. Tyrone
The pedigree of each branch is presented in
separate files in "Family History Report" format and prepared with
Microsoft "Word" (Windows 98). Each pedigree tile includes background
history with detailed notes on key individuals, and concludes with a full
index of names and a list of the research sources used. Contact Nancy Childress for information
about purchasing.

CENSUS FOR THE TOWN OF NORTH STONINGTON,
NEW LONDON, CONNECTICUT - 1850-1920
Compiled by Nancy Childress
This collection has been invaluable in the
work of The Main Tree II and III. As the names were sometimes hard to
read, I did the best I could. Remember to check names that sound like or
look similar and if you find the name you are looking for, think, this is
a stretch. Sometimes it wasn't the handwriting but the way the census
taker thought the name should be spelled. 300 pages, 3-hole punched ready
for your own 3-ring notebook. Contact
Nancy Childress for information about purchasing.
